Saiid Kobeisy Revisits Early 20th-Century Elegance
Passementerie runs across several looks in Saiid Kobeisy's Fall/Winter 2027 couture collection, tracing seams and contours with the precision of a drawing. The detail reflects the collection’s references to the decorative language of the early twentieth century, seen through linear Art Deco motifs and kimono sleeves.
The collection stays largely within a soft palette of ecru, blush, pale green and powder blue. Velvet, metallic lace and satin provide much of the visual interest, while embroidery moves between geometric patterns and pixel-like motifs.
Yet the collection remains rooted in Kobeisy’s signature approach to couture, where rich embellishment and intricate embroidery carry a distinctly Middle Eastern sensibility. The historical references add structure, but the defining language is the interplay of rich ornament and detailed craftsmanship.
